Forever Blue Banquet
The Laker Alumni held the Forever Blue banquet on Saturday August 8, 2009. The event was part of the 50th year anniversary of Laker Schools. There were approximately 400 in attendance for the meal and program. The purpose of the event was to get together with old friends and reminisce, as well as meeting new friends. The program began with an opening ceremony conducted by some of the past State Officers in attendance. The program continued with recognizing past State Officers, American Degrees, State Stars, State Degrees, Outstanding Junior Awards, past Chapter Officers, Leadership Skills Competitors, and Skills Competitors. Mr. Bruce Protzman was recognized for being the oldest in attendance at age 84. Henk & Jeannette Wassink were recognized for traveling the longest distance. They are from the Netherlands and are friends of the Zwemmers.

The Spring FFA Banquet was held on Tuesday 4-28-09. The Alumni held its silent auction and labor sale. There were 450 people in attendance. The Alumni brought in $8,463.00 to use for scholarships for FFA members and other FFA projects.
